Flow Screed and Liquid Screed Preparation Services
The correct preparation is critical and paramount before the substrate or sub-base is to receive the chosen flow screed or liquid screed product. Using our vast expertise and guidance, we can supply and prepare any floor surface, residential or commercial, to a high standard, with the appropriate materials, and tailor a solution to your project. Insulation Boards Most of the time the liquid screed will be pumped and laid on top of insulation boards covered by a specific gauged membrane and even underfloor heating if requested, Sometimes a certain type and grade of the board will be requested by the architect or building contractor. These will be laid perfectly flat with no movement present and secure. Any existing gas or electric service pipes will be cut into the underside of the insulation, allowing the boards to remain in a flat state. The polythene thick gauge membrane that covers the whole area will be securely taped between all joints to stop any leaking of the screed material. Once the insulation boards have taken place and the damp proof membrane stretched out and taped, it is time for the edging strips to be placed wherever any vertical surfaces will come into contact and exposed to the screed. These strips also allow for slight expansion as the screed is in the drying process. Once the membrane, edgings and correct insulation are all in place the underfloor heating pipework installation can start to be set out before the screed is laid and levelled.
